The 2009 US Championship: Nakamura vs Friedel

Welcome to this weekly column, where I hope to keep you entertained! We will be concentrating on recent events, compiling quizzes and hope to throw in the occasional book review from time to time. I hope that you will also participate in this column and your questions about any aspect of chess are welcome. Perhaps I can only find space to answer one or two each week, but don’t let that dissuade you. I hope that this pot-pourri of subjects will please you. The US Championship recently finished in St Louis with a victory for Hikaru Nakamura. Here is one of his wins, playing in the original and energetic style that has made him famous.

Great analysis, but it would be even better if the comments pane were independent of the board frame. This way the board could stay stationary in full view while the reader scrolls down the comments frame. See ChessVibes.com annotated games for reference.

    Thanks,
    K
