Warzone problem

So, apparently users have a maximum of 15 seconds to respond to Doubling Cube requests. If they do not, then the Doubling Cube is automatically applied and the game is resigned, meaning the winner wins double points, the loser loses double points. Unless... a non-mover disconnects before the Doubling Cube request. In that case the usual disconnection rules apply: the game is won when the time runs out, and no double points whatsoever...

The thing is, today I've finished 2nd in the BulletZone instead of 1st because of this bug. In one of my last games, my opponent disconnected before I had requested Doubling Cube, and thus instead of gaining 20 points and losing just 15 seconds, I've got just 10 points and lost a whole minute. I've finished 2nd with 212 points, while Kingcrusher who finished 1st got 218. If the bug didn't occur, I'd finish 1st with 222. That's a 15 crown difference...

Re: Warzone problem

1.) which warzone has 'crowns' for prizes?

2.) you mean, immediately upon match-up you're not always triggering
the doubling cube? (why not? surely that's the only shot participants
have of being amongst the top finishers).

It's sounding like a bug (but avoidable imo if you're quicker at
clicking the doubling option just as the match-up occurs).

Re: Warzone problem

1) BulletZone I at 10:15 GMT.
2) I did trigger the doubling cube right away, but he managed to disconnect a split second earlier.

Bottom line, it is a bug. The rule says: no moves + no response at doubling cube for 15 seconds = double points + loss. It shouldn't matter if you're connected or not.

Re: Warzone problem

Sometimes we can make our own destiny (find the solution before
the site does and you've an edge over your opponents).

While (near as I can tell, but I'm no mod with x-ray vision, I can only
hazard a reasonable guess based on your game history and the total
time that your games appear to use) you do not appear to have
serious lag issues, I still wonder if lag's a factor.

If that were the case, closing out all other tabs, closing out all other
non-essential programs and refreshing the cc webpage just before
playing in a tourney may trim some if not much of your lag.

Re: Warzone problem

It has nothing to do with lag. Applying double cube isn't the first priority in a game, it can wait a few moves. However, if the opponent doesn't intend to move, it doesn't make sense to wait for his time to run out, so this 15 seconds rule is a great idea. However, due to a bug the rule doesn't work in case of disconnection.
