More online FIDE rated Chess Matches?
Hello ChessCube world.
ChessCube hosted the first online FIDE rated Chess matches in 2009 during a South African Open. Players in Australia were able to dial in.
Has anyone heard any more on this idea? The concept had a few bugs which I think can easily be fixed, But I cant find anything else on the topic. How is this concept of online FIDE rated matches developing?
Wouldn't countries like Russia and USA or even whole continents be interested in this for holding country or continent wide leagues? Think of the potential league quality with such a wide audience. Think of the time and costs savings in travel. And it would be easy for online viewers to watch? Am I missing something?
Cheers
