Re: About Malaysia..

well~ lemme just introduce shopping malls that might be interesting to be visited for those who are shopaholic like me

but for sure i just list out the malls which are located in KL only..coz i dont really know bout other states... heeee :-d

1) mid valley - The Mid Valley Megamall is an extremely popular mall that's also one of the biggest in Southeast Asia. Located near Bangsar facing the Federal Highway..

2) suria KLCC - The Suria KLCC shopping mall is nestled between the world's second tallest structures, the Petronas Twin Towers.

3) berjaya Time Square - Times Square in Bukit Bintang is one of the latest shopping malls to hit the Klang Valley.

4) Bukit Bintang Plaza and Sungai Wang Plaza - These two plazas located in Bukit Bintang have a long history in Kuala Lumpur. These two malls are the place to look for wild and unorthodox fashion with a distinct Chinese flavour. You can also get a good number of electronics, especially cell phones and other mobile accessories.

5) Pavilion - The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is the latest shopping mall to open in the Bukit Bintang area.

6) One Utama - The One Utama shopping centre in Bandar Utama, is one of Petaling Jaya's largest and popular malls. It consists of two wings connected directly to each other over a wide road.

7 ) Sunway Pyramid - Sunway Pyramid, located in Sunway of Petaling Jaya, has a distinct Egyptian architecture in its outlook. When it was first built, it was one of the biggest and most popular shopping centres in the Klang Valley, but it has been superseded by more recent mega-malls. For entertainment, Sunway Pyramid was the first mall to incorporate an ice-skating rink which is still popular today.

8) Sogo - my fav place :)

hope this will help u guys to shop in KL....feel free to ask..

:text-welcomewave: Genting Higlands :text-welcomewave:

More info : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genting_Highlands

Some Of The Famous Places : :text-woo: :text-woo:

Genting Skyway Cable Car : The Skyway Cable Car is the fastest and easiest way to get to the apex of Genting Highlands. This relaxing and scenic ride affords you breathtaking views of the surrounding hills; the gondola-style cab glides along at leisurely pace, making it an ideal photo-taking opportunity.

Image

Casino de Genting : It may not be as exciting as a Las Vegas outfit where sparkling dresses, glittering neon lights and scantily-clad showgirls abound, but its Malaysia’s only legal land-based casino.

Image

Indoor Theme Park & Video Games Park : A trip to Genting Highlands would be incomplete without the adrenaline rush at the wildly popular Genting Theme Park. Don’t miss out on a chance to explore Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum as well as the climbing wall, Snow World and a fierce wind-turbine tunnel for a simulated skydiving adventure.

Image

Outdoor Theme Park : Kids will enjoy the outdoor theme park best as it includes water slides and thrill rides ranging from the mild to the extreme. Boasting an assortment of fun rides, the outdoor park is all the rage at this hill station. Don’t forget to try out the Space Shot and the Flying Coaster if you crave the adrenaline rush.

Image

Sky Venture : Freefalling off the side of a plane equipped only with a parachute may not be your idea of the most viable entertainment option – but fret not because Sky Venture, Asia’s first skydiving simulator, is a thrilling yet safe ride that allows you to experience 120-mph winds as you plummet, without ever having to pull the ripcord. This wind-turbine is a state-of-the-art skydiving air stream tunnel designed to completely immerse you in the world of skydiving sensation.

Image

Snow World : Experience a winter wonderland, unlike any other in Malaysia, when you step into the snow-white landscape of Snow World. Featuring the Cresta Run snow slide, this attraction is a novel experience due to Malaysia’s hot and humid weather; it’s a great place to see kids playing and adults taking in the sights.

Image

Flying Fox : If you’ve ever fancied being strapped safely into a harness and helmet and then being launched off a ramp into a dipterocarp forest, then here’s your chance. This airborne adventure sends you hurtling down a 100-metre wire strung down the side of the hill; it’s the perfect way for you to bond with friends and family and requires minimum level of instruction, making it the perfect quick-thrill ride.

Image

Chin Swee Caves Temple : his Taoist temple was erected in honour of Reverend Master Chin Swee, a religious figure renowned for his ability to summon rain and drive away evil spirits. The central attraction of this temple is the black statue of Chin Swee in the entrance hall.

Re: About Malaysia..

MALAYSIA HISTORY

Malaysia History has been influenced to a great extent by outside influence of Hindu Kingdoms, the arrival of Islam in the 10th century, the intrusion of European colonial power, the Japanese occupation during World War Two and the establishment of a multi racial Federation of Malaya in 1957.

The Hindu Kingdoms ruled the Malays world from 100 BC to 1400 AD and reached its peak in the Srivijaya civilisation based in Sumatra. During this time, Hindu culture were imported from India and archaelogical findings in Bujang Valley in the state of Kedah showed that there were ruins of an ancient Hindu Kingdom dating back to the year 300 AD. You will be able to see some of the relics on display at Bujang Valley Archaeological Museum.

The arrival of Islam in the 10th century led to the conversion of the Malay and Indonesian world. It reached its golden era from 1400 AD to 1511 AD during the reign of the sultanates in Malacca. Islamic culture and trading of goods prospered during this time.

The European colonial powers came into this region to conquer the land for its rich spices, minerals and as army posts in South East Asia. The Portuguese captured Malacca in 1511 followed by the Dutch and finally the British. During the time of British reign, many Chinese and Indians were brought from Southern China and Southern India to work in the tin mines and rubber plantation.

Then came World War Two and the Japanese occupied Malaya from 1942 to 1945. After World War Two, the British resumed their control of the country. After a series of diplomacy and discussion between the leaders of the country and the British, the multi racial Federation of Malaya was established in 1957.

In 1963, Malaya became Malaysia with the joining of Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore as part of Malaysia. However, Singapore separated from Malaysia in 1965.

Malaysia since 1970 has been ruled by the National Front Coalition consisting of parties that represent the Malays, the Chinese and the Indians communities.

Since than, Malaysia has prospered economically and has become one of the most developed contry in South East Asia.
