Bans for cheating - Country list

my wa_ha_ha account was banned for cheating...it's ridiculous bcoz i usually played 1 min or 10 secs + 1 game...how can one cheat in a short period of time?..if reporting by a mod is the only basis of banning it, i think the admin should reinstate my wa_ha_ha account...otherwise, THE CREDIBILITY OF THIS SITE IS QUESTIONABLE

There are programs cheaters use in short time control games and cheaters are well aware of this.

hi every body.basically china is the most honest with 1.8 billions and 1 cheater only.does not make sense of course.percentage cheaters divided by number of members from that country will have more sense.thanks chesscube anyway!

So, don't join chesscube as it's inevitable that some joiners will end up cheating and that will result in their activity being perhaps disproportionately (well for sure, the larger countries with lots of people) a bad reflection on their country?

You're listing absolute numbers and not a percentage or fraction for each country. So, a country that has 100 times as many members as another country, will appear to have more cheaters here even if the ratio of cheaters to members in the larger country is 1/50th of the country with the smaller number of participants here. You're a good chess player, but I really, really wonder if you understand statistics and the impact on readers' perception.

Or maybe you do understand (and that would be pretty sad imo.)

I think Phew's comment is valid, and avpavan's suggestion goes some way towards addressing this (perhaps as a % of users ?).
I think it's desirable to give the published figures a context.

When the times goes 30 seconds left of him
it automatically turns 1 minute and my time becomes 53 seconds..
I was shock and get mad of my 5 minutes play time..How to ban does cheaters??

We do not unban accounts that have previously cheated. We however allow you to create a new account. But, please be advised to revise our ChessCube Acceptable Usage Policy. Excessive account bannings for cheating will allow us to block your access totally to ChessCube.
