Re: Bans for cheating - Country list
The origins of chess began as a prestigious pastime and was associated with nobility, class and high culture. Perhaps, with the continued efforts of organizations like CC as well as those players interested in playing with honor, it can once again return to it's high regard. Honor, loosely defined, is the evaluation of a person's social status as judged by that individual's community. Accordingly, individuals are assigned worth and stature based on the harmony of their actions, code of honour, and that of the society at large. In this case, social status might equate to one's rating and member interaction within the confines of CC; it isn't difficult to discern cheating or "judge" based on certain action(s); the entire thread here suggests true dischord based on the lack of harmony among certain individual's actions, i.e. cheating; code of honor should dictate true and fair play; the society at large, aka CC Community, has obviously spoken. Great job on the site as well as the efforts to ban the cheating practices! Please continue with your efforts and do not be dissuaded by those without a true appreciation for protecting the game.
Re: Bans for cheating - Country list
Brings me to the very basic question and Sean you owe an answer to it - "How do you determine a cheat? Is the method of determining cheat absolutely fool proof?"
To quote my experience, during 2,3 of my games, the opponent was auto-resigned by the system. I couldn't get a clue and when I tried to check with opponents they either said or lied that they don't have a clue either.

Re: Bans for cheating - Country list
Salam,
Just a question: Are the countries in the list based on the users' choice? Or do you track the geographical location of the cheaters?
