This is what I get stuart...a mate in 3

Nc6 is there for Nd4 as no there is no Be8 ..means Nxd4 is possible ..

and Instead of Bd6 black can play Ne7 to prevent Rd5 and opening king to go out if again Be8 then Nac6 is there after that black has option of Bg1 to prevent Nd4 .

1. Rd8, Bg1 2. Rb8, any move by black 3. Nc7†, R×c7 4. Ra5
2nd way
1. Rd8 Rd7 2. R×d7, Bb8 3. Rb7, Any move by black 4. Ra5

Nxd4 is possible, it's played after black plays Nxd4

Anyway, why should black play Bg1 and Rd7, both of them are not compulsary.In fact, Rd7 is illogical

Answer to puzzle 7 -

Qf1 Re5 [ Black's most logical move should be Rc2, but that would cause mate in 2 for him ( Qe1+ Re2 Qxe2# ) ] [ Re5 is the best place for black's rook to go as it prevents troubles from Qc4+ ]

Qxa6 Rd6 [ Nc6 => Nd7# by white; Bc6 => Ng5# by white ]

Correct this time?

For Puzzle six . 1.Rd7 .. then Rd7 or Bg1 is for avoid mate Nd4.

For puzzle seven . 1. Qf1 Re5 2. Qxa6 instead of Rd6 i would have played Rxf5. and then providing my king sufficient space . No doubt black will lose but mate in 4 is neccessary for white and black has to avoid mate in 4 any how whether to lose all pieces .
