Re: Knight#07
I say:
1. Qh5+ Kh8, 2. Qxe8+ Kh7, 3. Nxf6+ gxf6, 4. Rxe7+ Qf7, 5. Qxf7+ Kh8, 6. Qe8#

1. Qh5+ Kh8, 2. Qxe8+ Kh7, 3. Nxf6+ gxf6, 4. Rxe7+ Qf7, 5. Qxf7+ Kh8, 6. Qe8#

Re: Knight#07
Good day,
Frank seems correct in the start although there is more. Here is some of the explanation:
Or at least a bit of explanation,
1 Ng5 this move cover king's possible scapes of h7 and f7.
Now if 1... f6xNg5 then 2 Qh5+ Kg8 3 QxRe8+ Kh7 4 Qh5+ Kg8 5 RxNe7 and white wins quite confortably since black can't mate white king and can't defend the king. Black needs to defend e8 square with queen by sacking it. with queen and bihsop against bishop -3 pawns I suppose white will win.
Else if 1... QxBd2 white mates, 2 Qh5+ or h4+ Kg8 3 Qh7+ Kf8 (knight block f7) 4 Qh8+ Ng8 5 QxNg8+ KxQg8 6 RxRe8#
I am still thinking about 1 ... Kg8 I suppose that the move continues to be Qh5 threating the Rook and h7. but queen and knight defend g8 square.... so there will be another combination... I will post it later I am not in thinking mode now.
Have a nice day.
Regards Xabier.

Good day
if you do 1 Qh5 black will never do Kh8 he will do 1... QxQh5 since the black queen is in d5 square defending h5 square.

Re: Knight#07
indeed, i saw that after i posted
I since think that Kg5 is probably the best move.

Re: Knight#07

well 1)Ng5 Kg8 2)Qh5 !! winning for white ...fxg5 2)Qh5+ or ...Rd8 2)Rxe7 !!

Re: Knight#07
Good day,
Thanks for your response arold, but I was thinking about something like this line:
1 Ne4-g5 Kh8-g8 2 Qg4-h5 Kg8-f8 defending mate threat and rook...
I will think more of these line later.
Have a nice day
Regards Xabier
PS: I see it now, 2... Kf8 3 Ng5-h7+ Kf8-g8 4 Qh5xQd5+ Ne7xQd5 (5 Nh7xf6+ g7xNf6 6 Re1xRe8+) 5 Re1xRe8+ Kg8xNh7 and black is an exchange down but 3 pawns up. There must be another good move.
if 4 Qh5xRe8+?? Kg8xNh7 5 Re1xNe7 Qd5xBd2 then 6 Qe8-h5+ Qd2-h6 seems quite ok for black due to his 3-4 pawns more.
