Official: New ChessCube Tournaments launching 28-Nov-2011
We've been monitoring feedback on Tournaments over the past few months. Many users have emailed us saying that the "Points" handicap in Warzone Tournaments is really tough - and encourages sandbagging. We took to starting a poll on our Facebook Fan Page - asking you which handicaps do you like most - and the "Points" handicap, as expected, performed quite poorly.
So, based on this feedback - we've removed the Points handicap from all our Warzone tournaments.
Another huge request was a longer time control in our Standard Swiss-Type tournaments - where the maximum was a 10 minute time control. As requested, we've now added 1 tournament with a 20 minute time control. There is one for now, and based on how popular this tournament becomes, we may add more over time.
Other changes - we've now added 3 FREE daily tournaments with Cubit prizes for all countries that have chat rooms on ChessCube. They will run every morning, afternoon and evening - every day. I'd encourage you to join these tournaments and get your fellow countrymen to join too.. they're FREE!
Here is the updated tournament schedule that will take effect on 28 November 2011:
ChessCube Standard Warzone Tournaments
ChessCube Daily Warzone Series (Excl. Sun)
ChessCube Weekend Warzone Series (Sat-Sun)
ChessCube Rating Specific Warzone Tournaments (Free Entry)
ChessCube XP/Level Specific Warzone Tournaments (Free Entry)
ChessCube Country Specific Warzone Tournaments (Free Entry)
ChessCube Standard/Round Robin Tournaments
ChessCube Standard/Round Robin Tournaments (Free)
Thanks for all your feedback so far, and keep them coming!
We are the number 1 live tournament site on the web - and we plan to keep it this way
