[fixed] Flash 10.2 - Latest Update

Hi all,

Just an update from our side.
We've following this error on the web, and Adobe has not sent out any news regarding a fix for this issue. We've also checked our code, and can confirm that the Shockwave issue is due to a fault on Adobe's end, not ours.

As we already know, the Flash 10.2 release version is not compatible with ChessCube, however the debug version is. You can download it here: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note for Chrome users: Chrome manages the Flash version so it is not easy to use the debug version with Chrome.

Download the 'Plugin content debugger for Firefox" or the "ActiveX control content debugger" for IE.

We will keep working with Adobe (the developers of Flash) so that ChessCube can run on the regular (and not debug) version of Flash and we'll keep you updated as things unfold.

For the adventurous who want to get the debug version working in Chrome, follow these steps:

1. download the Netscape debug version: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flas ... _debug.exe
2. close Chrome completely - even go into Task Manager if needed
3. Install the debug player by running the .exe
4. Start Chrome again
5. Type in about:plugins in the Chrome URL box and hit enter
6. Click on +Details far right
7. Scroll to Flash - you should see two version options
8. Disable the one that has Chrome in its location path

Now the debug player is your default player - and you should not have further problems with Chrome and ChessCube.

NOTE: you will want to re-enable the original version once all of this has been sorted out!!

just found another workaround:

- Uninstall Flashplayer
- Install Flashplayer v10.1

It took me a while to find a source for the old versions, but here they are:
