Pretty simple, but i like your puzzlez.

1. Rd8+!! Rxd8 [1..Bxd8 2. Qe8#] 2. Qxb7 +--

Are there any prizes for this? :)

Re: Knight#12

Good day,

Seems like a pretty nice example of trapped king to me.

Here it goes:

We need to see that the only piece protecting the queen is the black rook on b8 and that the black king is trapped in back rank mate due to the white knight covering g7 square. Thus a direct attack on d8 forcing rook move should be enough to win the black queen.

[FEN "1r4k1/1q3p1p/1bQ3p1/p3pN2/2p1P3/P4P2/1P4PP/K2R4 w - - 0 0"]

1. Rd8+ {Double threating mate in Qe8 if Bishop takes the rook and threating the queen on b7 if rooks takes the rook.} Rxd8 (1...Bxd8 2. Qe8#) 2. Qxb7 gxf5 3. Qxb6 1-0

If bishop takes the king attacking rook queen will just mate in e8 square.

Regards Xabier.
