Re: Knight#13
rc2 threat qxf2 rook can not defend f2 with rf1 as this is mate qxf1 and if ne4 then f5 and if knight moves is 2 move mate if stays put and plays rd2 then mate with qf1 , is doom whatever white plays i think

Re: Knight#13
B-d3. QxB QxQ, RxQ R-c3m8.
or RxB Q-e3m8
or any other white move QxR (m8 or a Rook up.)

Rc2, 2. push e4 black push e5 than queen is blocked( no more defended the poun or rock and white will be lose very soon)
if you play better you can:
1. ... Rc2
2. Kh1 Qxf2 3. Rg1 Bf1 4. Qe4 Rc1 5. Qa8+ Kh7
6.h3 f5 7. Nf7 Qxe3 8. Kh2 f4 9. Nd6 f3
10. Qxf3 Qxg1+ 11. Kxg1 Be2+ and white must be lose !
This is maybe best moves you can do on this puzzle !

1... Rc3

lets take a look of some variations
if
2.Qxc3 Qxd1+
3.Qe1 Qxe1+ #
if
2.Qd2 Qxd2
3.Rxd2 Rc1+
4.Rd1 Rxd1+ #
if
2.Nc4 Rc2 (threatening Qxf2+ and Qxg2 mate)
3.Qxd2 Nxd2
4.Qxd1+ Nf1
5.Qf1+ #
0-1

There is no Qxd2.. Rc3 doesn't work
-----------------------
1. ... - Rc2
White loses very quick

if
2. e4 - Bd3 (Threats Qxd1++)
3a. Qxd3 - Qxf2+ (mate in 2)
3b. Rxd3 - Qe1++
3c. Rf1 - Qxf1++
3d. Qa1 - Qxf2+ (mate in 2)
3e. g3 - Qxd1+ 4. Kg2 - Bf1+ 5. Kg1 - Qxd4 (and mate in few moves. With g4 we still win the rook and the queen)
3f. h3 - Qxd1+ 4. Kh2 - Rc1 (white loses the rook and is a easy win for blacks)
if
2. Rf1 - Qxf1++
