Ok. I just did that a moment ago. I went through the pain in the following order:

1. Cleared chrome cache.
2. Uninstalled chrome.
3. Uninstalled flash player (both plugin and active x).
4. Restarted pc.
5. Reinstalled chrome.
6. Tried the site. It was the same black page.
7. Installed flash player plugin 10.1.82.76.
8. Tried the site. Then it says "The flash plug-in was blocked because it is out of date." I chose [Run this time]. The same frustrating black page.
9. Tried FF (which settings and installation I did not touch). The same black page.
10. Restarted pc.
11. Tried the site. The same black page.

why does ChessCube use a different K-Factor than FIDE?? I feel like every chess site uses their own "custom" formula to calculate their players ratings...

Maybe because online chess is different than a real life chess? :D

Does anybody know if there is anything that can be done about players who when in a losing position refuse to move and run the clock down (usually after being denied a take back request, this option I believe is a waste of time who actually ever grants one?) I know you still end up winning the game however it is a waste of my time having to hang around for 10 mins as if I resign or leave I forfeit the game. Can anyone help?

Unfortunately there is nothing Chesscube could do regarding the matter of your opponent not moving and thus keeping you wait.
When playing a game, both users accept and agree to the game terms which includes "time control". Every user has the right to use their amount of time as they wish.

We do have some users who when in a lost position refuse to move and run the clock down, but as I explained above its within their time frame, this could be taken as bad sportsmanship. Just keep note of such users and try to avoid playing them again.

However, upon re-reading your posts I have noticed that you haven't tried logging into chesscube through Internet explorer. Please give it a try by installing this browser.
