ChessCube Downtime - April 21 2011

I think the downtime problem not as clear to Facebook users unless they also get the feed from your official Facebook page. If I click Play here on the actual site, I get the "Server Maintenance" message, but on Facebook, it seems to load normally and log me in (although a little slow), but then freezes up after I hit play. It actually says there are currently 787 Live Games as well, so it looks like everything is up and running.

Maybe you could make the Facebook version show the same server maintenance message immediately when loading the application? Several other Facebook apps that appear to be affected by the same datacenter problem are doing that now (See Oregon Trail, Carmen Sandiego, etc). Plenty of other websites are down as well, such as Reddit

Long Datacenter outages are inevitable, but the length of this one leads me to think they had some sort of catastrophic hardware failure

I know you guys are doing your best you get the site up and running. It's a great site and I wish I could do something to help. It's unfortunate that some people will blame chess cube and the managers and such for something out of their control. Patience is virtue when it comes to these things and I'm looking forward to chatting and playing with you all again.
