The latest ChessCube news and information
Thank you Chess Cube for helping to keep honesty and integrity in a game we love
nice to hear that sounds new 2 a newbie like me, but there are instances the tournament ratings drops due to
1.severe lag then trying hard 2 continue the tourney's
2. simultaneously playing rated game and tournament thereby loses,it also affect the rating and performance.
3. resigning the game early because maybe someone found out that her'his game has no bearing.
so ..this announcement is only good from now on.....but what for the banned users....?
"I don't see a problem with players who fight in each game but fail to win. If you lose against any opponent but tried your best to win it is fair enough. But simply resigning after a few moves without trying to win is not sporting and a violation of the rule."
If you have a low rating due to a bad tournament, or a bad day on the board in general, or if you have been trying out 960 or bullet chess for the first time and lost horribly - we understand that.
It's worth mentioning that our anti-cheat team housed in ChessCube HQ uses logic when investigating users. They are a team who look for malicious behavior - and can spot it even when it is concealed. We're not here to ban everyone just because they had a bad day and lost a couple of games . We're here to crack down on sandbagging, and all other forms of cheating, in a fair and non-biased manner.
Hope this clears up any confusion .
I'm a chesscube moderator and having a 1800 tournament rating and a 2160-2200+ general rating, see the gap? It does not mean I sandbag, anyone is welcome to see my games. I may be good in 960chess 10sec, and normal. But 2min games I'm terrible, I have entered my first tournament in the 2min bracket. I from now and then join a tournament, not even occasionally. But whenever I play a chess game, I play it honestly and do my best regardless of the score, and thats all we ask for.
So just to emphasize more on what Sean and Pioneer mentioned; Do your best in your games and you have nothing to worry about regardless of your tournament and general rating gaps.
May we help chesscube get rid of sandbaggers and their likes, and let the honest players prevail.
Nice Sean....we support what Chesscube doing.
